Breaking Down Walls

Our desire is to create a culture of community that isn't religious, fake, or shallow- that's not rehearsed, polished, or fancy. Our desire is to cultivate relationships and community that honor God and each other by breaking down the walls of some of the things God doesn't care about when it comes to "church". Let go of your ideas of "church" based on other churches, stereotypes, or stigmas. Let the word of God and the Holy Spirit dictate how you formulate your thoughts and opinions on how church should look.

Come as you are, wear what you want. Laugh, cry, clap, dance, whatever and however- as long as you're being your authentic self in your surrender, (and in every other area of your life) that's what matters. God sees your HEART, He always has. He doesn't care about the material things, the format, or how many lights and screens, seats or people are involved. It's your HEART and what you're doing with it.
Let's break down the walls of self righteous justification "does this fit my beliefs?" and start choosing Gods word as the authority to live by, instead of making up our own.
Let's break down the walls of FEAR. "I've gone to church XYZ so long, that I would hate to leave- what are others going to think of me?" - When truth subsides, taking a stand subsides, even when you know in your heart you need to move on and you don't- you get STUCK. Stuck in fear. Let go, and let GOD lead that! Lean into the Holy Spirit's call in your life. Don't worry about what others will think- do you live to please God, or men!?
Let's break down the walls of what we've been conditioned to believe and feel makes a "good" church when we walk into one, that are actually lies: Being comfortable, having lots of people, having a huge building, having the best stage and lighting, having a coffee bar, having amazing worship music, having giant toys for kids- where everything has become too convenient and easy, that you become lazy in your faith, complacent, unchallenged and lukewarm. Unaccountable and not discipled. Where you haven't really connected with other people because you've been enabled to be a shallow consumer of church- where it's a place you go to, instead of the truth that IT'S WHO YOU ARE, because of JESUS! Where you serve your community once or twice a year, instead of being equipped to do it every week in big and small ways. The church is a life-giving community of the saints of God who gather to worship, pray, and live out the gospel of Jesus every day of the week- people who intentionally cultivate relationships with others to serve, love, and give their time, money, and resources to do what Jesus calls us to! Modern day "church" is not the end all- Jesus is!! The church is a family on a journey, it's not a destination or an event.
Let's break down the walls of cultural Christianity. Loving Jesus is an every day, every moment way of living, giving, doing, and being based on Gods truth, the Holy Spirit, and the gifts He's given us to reach our world. Jesus of the bible is not "Me, me, me- do what makes you happy and live for yourself"- NO! Jesus of the bible says to "take up your cross and follow me" to "love your enemies" to "not get weary of doing good" to "forgive others" to "bless those who persecute you" - We're called to do the hard things too! Get honest in His word, and forget what the world says church is.
We don't care about being professional, politically correct, nor do we get stressed by trying to maintain some flow like it's a performance. We don't care about "looking" like we're something great or trying to appeal to the masses- we care about living out the gospel, period. We just want to be real. We just want to love! Real sinners who've been redeemed by His grace. Real people with struggles who confess to one another so we can love and serve- and through Jesus, help one another overcome. We need each other. We gather as the church, to be equipped by His word to go into our communities and make an impact in the lives of people. If we're doing what we're called to- people will know, see, and hear the goodness of God based on our love towards them, because of our love for Him. Let's BE the church! Let's GO!!!! 🙌🏼🙌🏼🙌🏼🙌🏼❤️
